Legal

Last updated 1 October 2026

This page sets out the legal terms that apply when you use the Tamrah News website and newsletters and social media accounts. It also explains how we handle personal information and how to send us a legal notice. We have tried to write it in plain language. If something is unclear please write to us and we will explain it.

Terms of use

These terms apply to every person who visits or uses our services. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree please do not use the site. The services are provided byTamrah Global LLC, a Limited Liability Company] registered in United States, which we refer to on this page as Tamrah News or as we.

You may read and share our work for your own personal use. You may not use the site in a way that breaks the law or harms others or interferes with how the site runs. In particular you must not try to gain unauthorised access to our systems or collect data from the site by automated means without our written permission. You must not introduce harmful code or send large volumes of requests that slow the site down for other readers. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules.

You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your country to hold an account with us. Children may read the site but should not create accounts or make payments without a parent or guardian.

Copyright and use of our content

The stories and photographs and graphics and video and audio on this site belong to Tamrah News or to the people who created them and who have licensed them to us. They are protected by copyright law. Our name and logo are trademarks and may not be used without our written consent.

You are welcome to quote short extracts from our stories in your own work provided you name Tamrah News as the source and link to the original page. You may share links to our stories on any platform. You may not copy a full story or a photograph or a graphic and republish it elsewhere without our permission. You may not sell our content or use it to train a system that produces competing material.

If you wish to republish or license our work write to info@tamrahnews.com and tell us what you want to use and where and for how long. Schools and community groups and charities who wish to use our work for teaching or public benefit are encouraged to ask. We will usually say yes.

Some images on the site are supplied by wire services or by members of the public and carry their own credit lines. Those images may be subject to separate terms and we cannot grant permission to reuse them.

Material you send us

When you send us a news tip or a guest piece or a photograph or a letter you keep the copyright in it. By sending it you give us a licence to use it as described on our Guest Contributions and Submit a News Tip pages. That licence covers publication on our website and in our newsletters and on our social media accounts. It lasts for as long as the material remains in our archive. You confirm that the material is yours to share and that it does not break any law or the rights of anyone else.

We do not sell the material you send us. We do not pass your tips to a third party unless the law requires it. You may ask us to stop using a piece of your work and we will consider the request under our Corrections Policy.

Comments and public conduct

Where we allow readers to comment on stories or on our social media accounts we expect people to treat each other with respect. We remove comments that contain threats or abuse or hate or private information about others or advertising or content that is plainly false and harmful. We may block users who break these rules repeatedly. Comments reflect the views of their authors and not the views of Tamrah News. You are responsible for what you post.

By posting a comment you give us permission to display it on the site. We may remove it at any time and we are under no duty to keep it online.

Privacy and personal information

We collect only what we need to run the site and serve our readers. This depends on how you use us.

  • When you visit the site we record basic technical details such as your device type and the pages you view and the time of your visit. We use this to understand which stories matter to readers and to keep the site working.
  • When you subscribe or donate or sign up for a newsletter we collect your name and email address and payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe, PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Amex or any third party service providers and we do not store full card numbers.
  • When you write to us we keep your message and your contact details so that we can reply and keep a record.
  • When you send a tip we handle it under the confidentiality rules set out on our Submit a News Tip page.

We use cookies to remember your settings and to measure how the site is used. Some cookies come from advertisers who display ads on our pages. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

We never share the names of subscribers or donors with advertisers. We do not sell personal information. We share it with outside companies only when they help us run the site and are bound to protect it or when the law requires us to do so. These include our payment provider and our email delivery service and our hosting company.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected or as long as the law requires. You may ask us what we hold about you and you may ask us to correct it or delete it. We will respond within thirty days. There are limited exceptions. We may keep information that we need to meet a legal duty and we cannot delete material that we have published in the public interest. Send your request to stories@tamrahnews.com.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss and misuse. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise that information sent over the internet will never be intercepted. If a breach affects your personal information we will tell you as soon as we can.

Links to other sites

Our stories often link to other websites. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they contain or how they treat your information. A link does not mean that we endorse the site or its owner. Please read the terms and privacy notices of any site you visit.

Disclaimers and limits on liability

We work hard to publish accurate and reliable news. We do not guarantee that every item on the site is free from error or that the site will always be available. Our stories are not legal or medical or financial or professional advice. Please speak to a qualified person before you act on information that affects your health or your money or your legal rights.

To the extent that the law allows we are not responsible for loss or damage that results from your use of the site or from your reliance on its content. This includes loss caused by interruptions or errors or harmful code that reaches you through the site. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the law that cannot be removed. Nothing here limits our responsibility for fraud or for harm that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Legal notices and complaints

If you believe that something we published is false and has harmed you start with our Corrections Policy. It is the fastest way to have a factual error fixed and it does not cost anything. If you are not satisfied you may send a formal legal notice to info@tamrahnews.com with your name and contact details and the link to the material and an explanation of why you believe it is unlawful and what you want us to do. A legal adviser will review your notice and reply within 14 working days.

If you believe that we have used your copyrighted work without permission send us the link to the page and proof that you own the work and a description of the use you object to. We will review it promptly and remove the material when the claim is valid.

If you receive a request from a person claiming to represent us who asks for money or personal details please be cautious and contact us through the addresses on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of United States of America. Any dispute that arises from them will be heard in the courts of United States of America unless the law of your home country gives you the right to bring a case there. If a court finds that part of these terms cannot be enforced the rest stays in force.

Changes to this page

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make an important change we will post a notice on the home page and update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change you accept the new terms. Earlier versions are available on request.
